Gingerbread houses =)

It was a sticky sticky afternoon around here. We rolled out the gingerbread dough last night and cut out the walls & roof then baked them letting them sit out overnight to firm up a little more then the decorating began today after lunch.

They had the back sides decorated too, but that was a ton more pictures. They turned out pretty cute. Lots of fun. Learned what to do better for next year since this was our first attempt ever at gingerbread houses. lol =) Merry Christmas!!

been a while :)

Hey there! It's been forever! It was always at the back of my mind to get on here and blog, blog, blog. We've had a busy past week. A friend and her daughter came out from California to job hunt, do a few interviews and visit some friends. She stayed with us 3 days and they were action packed. We hit the drive-in in Powell on opening night and saw Mall Cop then didn't get home till nearly midnight. Gotta love living in the middle of nowhere. :) There's always a travel time tacked onto everything. The kids loved that one, but froze were all shivering by the time they crawled back into the suburban at the end of the movie. They swore they were fine out in their chairs. Tough guys I guess. haha! I was a major wimp and turned the heater on from time to time to warm up. It was a fun weekend. Ben and Paul came down with croupy coughs and have missed all week. It's been a pain. They have appointments today with the doc so that should help. Maybe some zithromax or something. Who knows. They haven't been in in forever so I can't remember what they had last. The wedding plans are fun to watch happen for Dad. He's pretty funny and reminds me of any young couple waiting to get married. :) He's extremely happy so that's contagious. :) Theron's working like crazy. He's been gone nearly 4 weeks this time around so that's been a bummer. The longer he's gone the less and less I like to do things around the house. Crazy how that works. It's not depression I think it's just the motivation and team effort isn't there and I drag. Crazy. So he'll be home in about a week and a half. We've been exploring new job ideas for him so our fingers are crossed. Ok, this has taken me a couple of hours to get to this point so I'm thinking I'll quit now before it gets erased. There's a couple of pics from when Kortney was in town.

catch up time :)

OK, so the pictures all uploaded in the opposite order that i wanted them to so we'll start from recent to a day or so ago. :) Some of these pictures are just plain corny. :) Buy hey...:):)
I couldn't find my earpiece for my phone so I could talk and do my run at the same time tonight and rigged it all up with a shoelace...hahaha! That white sticker at the top of my phone attached to my ear is an address label. lol. oh and i dyed my hair dark tonight and lost track of time and left it on a tad too long...fun fun :)
Michael and Benjamin made a hammock for Jacob. :)
My sister in law Kristi sent me way way way cute website with ideas for doing little girls hair and it motivated me to test out a hair do on Madi's short locks. lol
front view of her hair do
Benjamin was super walle and then Paul wanted to be a super hero too with their little throw blankets they got for Christmas and Jacob is a sucker for a blanket and was hugging them to cuddle.
super walle again...lol
the boys had Jonathon played Rockband for nearly 2 hours on Saturday...they had lots of fun
more rockband moments
oh yeah, i was driving home from Cody on Thursday night and a huge owl flew across the road and didn't quite clear my left light
I was really worried that I'd find the owl still lodged in there. I can't tell you how thankful I am that it wasn't!!!! heehee

Lazy Sunday afternoon

The kids love to turn the living room into their building area. Jacob joined the boys on the floor and they nicknamed him King Kong since he was eating their cars and crashing buildings. haha!
Madelynne definitely beats a different drum than the boys and has her own idea of fun for a lazy afternoon. She'll whip out her crayons and draw picture after picture until the fridge is covered with them all then she'll double and triple up the magnets. I need to get a string hung across her room and start hanging the pictures with clothespins.

Then the boys got annoyed with all the flies they let in all the time by turning my front door into a revolving door and went on fly duty. The best kind of fly patrol around if you ask me....as long as they make sure the dead flies get into the garbage...lol. =]
